Poem for Marci
“Where long dormant dreams can awaken
Where passion and judgment can sometimes be mistaken;
Where the ends always justify the means
Where potential can reach levels you never dreamed would be seen.
Where support and guidance intersect,
Where sometimes you experience bruising of the ego you were trying to protect;
Where words, or wisdom, are never dispensed with a lack of respect,
Because her opinions are built on the years of experience she's gained,
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN - "YOU BETTER LISTEN MORE THAN SING" because you've entered her domain.
Marci Lynne Solomon more, than a teacher, like a mother to me,
Showing me things about me I'd never dreamed I'd see.” Ali GhezelbashSet
“She is unquestionably one
of the strongest creative forces in the entertainment
field today.” Barbara
Krieger, Set
Designer/ Feature Films, Studio City, California
“Marci is not only a tremendous
performer on the stage but also an experienced teacher of
performance techniques, teaching those who are pursuing a
career on the stage. Her performance, in my opinion, is of
high quality and comes straight from the heart. She is an
entertainer’s entertainer.” Gary
Menotti, Director Austin City Limits
Ms. Lynne says, “One
must have more than talent in this business. It takes
guts, a belief in oneself that would weather any storm, a
mentor, and an alignment of people who know the things
that you don’t. And never forget all the paperwork!”
“She’s a knockout.
Her command of such a diverse musical spectrum is
absolute.” Austin
Chronicle
“A singer who defines ballads with
passion, honesty, and a great understanding of the
lyric.”
Variety
Newspaper
“How many times have
you said to yourself, “If only there was someone in the
audience that would tell me what I’m doing right so I
could do it again, and what I’m doing wrong so I could
eliminate it!?” Marci
Lynne Solomon
She is the best music performance coach anywhere - period.
She's caring with eyes that see in you, the
singer you were meant to be. Leta
Govett...singer, songwriter...
As a student of Marci Lynne Solomon's, I have seen
that she is on a mission. That mission is to create
fearlessness through singing. She does so much more than
just coax beautiful voices out of scared men, women and
children - she changes their lives in the process.
Although her musical and vocal expertise is second to
none, she also has the uncanny gift of helping her
students to find that place deep inside them
that knows they were born to sing - something many of
us had long ago forgotten. I am continually amazed to
observe how Marci empowers her students and how their
voices change and strengthen, along with their
self-confidence as they work with her. The
environment always feels safe yet we are not coddled. On
the contrary, we are constantly encouraged (strongly when
needed) to stretch the envelope and never to settle for
mediocrity. "It's a process", she reminds us
often, and she invites us to show up every day and welcome
the process, no matter what it happens to be looking like
that day. Not bad advice - for singing or for living for
that matter. And if you know Marci, you know that her life
reflects this wisdom in every way. Lyn

Marci
has picked me up, straightened me out
Stopped
my screaming, stopped my shouts
She
calmed me down and made me sing
For
that I'd give her anything
I
was a girl with no talent,
no voice
At
first seeing her wasn't my choice
But
I learned to love this goddess of song
If
I could I'd have stayed with her many days long
For
she pulled me up onto my feet
And
showed my voice was all too sweet
Marci
is the best teacher in the world and probably one of the
best people. She
showed me what I had and helped me make it better.
She opened up so many opportunities in my life,
gave me so many more choices.
There's nothing I can do to repay her for what
she's done for me, in a sense, she gave me my voice. Wow,
pretty good stuff! Christi
